West One gets students fighting fit with Broomgrove gym
A leading Sheffield residential developer has invested £20,000 into the installation of a gym at one of its major student accommodation complexes.
West One Student Accommodation, the management arm of the company which developed the renowned West ONE development and which this year is celebrating its 15th anniversary, has made the investment at its Broomgrove Apartments residence, located near the Botanical Gardens in the Collegiate area of Sheffield.
The gym, which will be free of charge and exclusive to Broomgrove residents, is scheduled to open in July 2018.
It is the second gym to be installed at West One residences, following the completion and subsequent inclusion of a gym at the Gatecrasher complex, built on the site of the former Gatecrasher nightclub in Sheffield’s cultural industries quarter and opened in 2016.
Andrea Marsden, head of residential at City Estates Ltd, which is also the same group of companies and responsible for West One, said: “This is a gamechanger when it comes to student residence in Sheffield and one which maintains our stance as a forward-thinking benchmark-setter in the city.
“We’re really excited by the installation of a gym at the Broomgrove complex, it’s a great development for the circa 143 students housed at the state-of-the-art residence.
“We hope to offer similar facilities at our other residences and will continue to look at how we can further enhance the experience of our student residents.”
