Outside of Uni, the city is full of events and things to do to make your Christmas in Sheffield magical. Here’s a few that we think you should try out.

Sheffield Christmas Market

Grab a glass of mulled wine in the in the Alpine Bar, a personalised gift from one of the many craft stalls or a delicious traditional German bratwurst and soak in the festive spirit in the city centre. It’s a great time to see the Peace Gardens, Pinstone Street and the Moor transformed into a winter wonderland, especially from on top of the big Ferris Wheel.

See Beauty and the Beast at the home of Panto!

Sheffield Lyceum Theatre plays host to this year’s Panto performance, Beauty and the Beast. Starring Blue’s Duncan James, get ready to take part in all the traditional Panto fun of comedy, costumes and magic.

Go for a festive walk in the Hope Valley

All you need to do is wander down to Sheffield Station and jump on a train through the Hope Valley Line to see some of the UK’s beautiful countryside. With one third of the city falling within the boundaries of the Peak District National Park you are never far away from rolling hills, muddy boots and country pubs to keep you warm when it’s cold outside.

Eat around the world at Sheffield Plate

Not looking for turkey this Christmas time? A stone’s throw away from the busy Christmas Markets nestled in Orchard Square is Sheffield Plate, a hub of delicious street food vendors that is certain to tantalise the tastebuds of you and your friends. Every Sunday morning in December they even have a Christmas Family Cinema showing from 11am.

We hope whatever and wherever you are over the festive period that you have a fantastic time surrounded by joy. Merry Christmas!
