It’s nearly kick-off time for Fresher’s Week 2024 and we can’t wait to welcome you all to Sheffield.
To help you find out more about what you can get involved with in your first week we’ve gathered a list of some Fresher’s events you won’t want to miss.
Whether you’re a University of Sheffield or Sheffield Hallam student, these events are the perfect place to let loose, have a blast and begin your student life. From sober social events to the most iconic nights out in town, there is something for everyone.
Leadmill Friday Official Freshers Party
Friday 20th September | 11pm onwards
Get your groove on at the iconic Leadmill nightclub right in the heart of the city. The Leadmill is the longest-running live music venue and nightclub in Sheffield and it’s the perfect place to kick off your tour of the nightlife
Throughout September, Leadmill is hosting multiple Freshers Events, including the sensational Freshers Leadmill Friday. If you want a proper Sheffield night out, this is your place to go.

Uni of Sheffield Vs Sheffield Hallam Bar Crawl
Sunday 22nd September | 9pm – 3am

Join the battle of the universities in the most action-packed bar crawl you’ll have ever seen. With over 5000+ students touring some of Sheffield’s best nightlife, playing games for insane prizes, and having a boogie, it will be a night to remember.

IKEA Re-Freshers Party
Monday 23rd September | 5pm – 8pm.
Take a break from the partying and take a trip to the Sheffield IKEA store for their annual Re-freshers party. From mocktails and games to exciting giveaways, this is a fantastic event to attend with your new-found friends.
Get stuck into an abundance of activities such as plant pot decorating, Flatpack building challenges and many more games for a chance to win some prizes.

Meadowhall Student Event
Thursday 26th September | 6pm – 9pm.
After a bit of last-minute shopping? Head down to Meadowhall shopping centre for a range of 269 different stores with exclusive offers, discounts and giveaways. With hundreds of student savings available, this is your perfect opportunity to pick up your last-minute supplies and new outfits before classes start.
There are even some exciting events and entertainment to liven the night up in between your shopping spree. What better way to start your new University journey than some new items and making a night of it with friends and flatmates?
